"Spence, trust me. That little gesture is what will set you apart from the other people he interviewed."
"AAAAH, you are frustrating me SO much right now."
"Spence. TRUST ME. I know what I'm talking about. Write the stupid note!!!! Oh, and then answer Brit back for the dance and dad wants you to aerate those 2 lawns you committed to."
"But there's a soccer game at the high school! You are seriously making me mad."
Maddie: "Mom, can I have 6-8 people over for lunch tomorrow?"
"Ummmm, I guess. Maybe. What do you want to eat?"
"Well, the pizza you did last time was great. Anything would be good though". (sandwich stuff for 8, pizza and salad for 8, anything for 8. No big deal. Just go to the store, feed Kate, tidy up kitchen by lunch, oh and make the stuff.)
Ali at 7:45 last night: "Hi mom," as I pull in the driveway from Pack Meeting.
"Ali, what are you doing home? You are supposed to be at dance until 9! How did you get home? What's wrong?"
"Spence picked me up. I'm quitting dance. I told you I wanted to."
"Ali, you're on a company. You can't just quit like that. You signed a contract you would do this for the year."
"I don't care. I just can't do ballet. I hate pointe. My teacher hates me anyway. She doesn't even correct me anymore so I know she thinks I'm not good anyway. Please call them mom. I'm quitting. You can't make me go."
Brett this morning on the phone on his way to Midway: "Erin, what are you doing today? Is there anyway you can take the Suburban down to Sandy to this place that is having a special on a tune up?"
"Well, I am doing this lunch for Maddie until 1. Do I have to?"
"I'll just call you later on it. Remember, tonight's the football game against Viewmont."
"I know, but remember I have to work snack shack for the first half. Can you sit with Kate?"
"Of course! She loves me! I'll take the sling."
Sydney to me on the phone at the pack meeting: "Mom, Maddie is just doing homework and she's not doing anything with me. I'm so bored. When are you coming home?"
"Syd, I've been gone 20 minutes. Maddie doesn't have to entertain you. Find something to do."
"What??!! There's NOTHING to do!"
"I don't know. Color. Do a puzzle. I know. Practice the piano or read."
"OK. Bye. Wait, when are you coming home? Will you give me a piano lesson or read with me?"
Kate: "I'm just a little chunky cheeked baby. I make my mum so happy. She won't ever put me down, not even when I'm sleeping. She is going to mess me up in my sleeping habits, but she just won't listen. She says it makes her too happy to just hold me. Oh well, whatever makes my mum happy. We went to a movie today, my mum, her friends and me. I decided to sleep the whole time. She's already so in love with me, but just wait until I talk to her in this accent."
A DAY IN THE LIFE OF ME. OH AND I'M NOT COMPLAINING. I LOVE EVERY MINUTE. (except maybe if I have to take the Suburban to Sandy.)

Love it. I was waiting for the end to reveal that Spencer got the job. Good thing for babies who love us and don't talk back or require anything, oh wait except for every second of every day!
It truly is a miracle that Kate speaks with a british accent, but I can hear it in her conversation....mum
Erin, I could totally see this whole thing playing out. I could see it. Wish I was in the room to actually hear it- or be the one that picked up Ali, or held Kate while you worked snack shack, or told spence to listen to you, laugh at Maddie's great ideas and encourage Ali to keeeeep dancing. I LOVE YOUR FAMILY SO MUCH. Wish I could SOMETHING for you!
Erin...I LOVE your blogs! I was laughing through the whole thing! Oh, and it really is amazing you have a baby that speaks in an English accent! :)
