Si's PIE NIGHT!!!

I have a friend named Si. She is one of my favorite people in the whole wide world. Among all of her other wonderful qualities, she is a total foodie. I've decided that her love language is gifts. This has resulted in many spontaneous treats for me and for my family over the years....mint brownies, warm cookies, things she makes on her blog if she has extras, random bakery treats when she goes to Salt Lake. I love the food snob side of her. She has to ask the waiter how they prepare what she is about to order. In detail. She has this little half smile/smirk that she does if someone suggests eating somewhere that is, how do I say it, beneath her taste buds. It's way fun to watch.
She has a pie night every year where lots and lots of people come and bring pies and just eat. She makes four or five (and you can always tell which ones they are. They go first.) There are 30 pies or so just laid out on her island and people help themselves to as much as they want. It is one of my favorite nights of the year. This year, I am feeling more sentimental than usual and so I decided to bring my camera and capture the people I love so much. I love being in her home with the people in these pictures.
Wayne and Si's husband GrantSi herself. Not the best pic of either of us though. We're way more super beautiful than that.Kate for the 5 seconds I got to hold her.Best friends ever.Beth and Christina. Beth's on the blacklist right now, because she actually chose to move out of our ward.Funny Kristen and the other awesome pie baker, Laurie. This year she made a sweet Key Lime Cheesecake.Laurie's husband Ray and the super cool Farleys who are our Lake Powell family.

First of all, I miss Si and I cannot wait to eat some of her amazing food. Second, I am so sad I missed pie night. I look forward to it all year long. Third, the Child's moved? Fourth, Kate soooo looks like a Blake and I call her for at LEAST 4 days STRAIGHT when I get home.

So I think Si should invite the Mayfields next year as substitutes for the out-of-state Blakes. Just sayin'.

RUDE! I can't believe Mel Wel said that!
Just for the record, I made 6 this year. Most years I make 8 or 9. But who's counting? We love having all of our bff's over. Misty, you and Mike and fam are invited for next year. Ute fans are always invited. Count on it.
Don't tell Erin, but we were really ticked that she brought her camera and took all of these pics. Now we KNOW she is serious about leaving us. :(

Hey erin i'm working on the list, but here is the kind of swing that I want if people want to do a group gift and the cheapest place i found it was on amazon.com it's called a fisher price papasan cradle glow/lighted swing it swings both front to back and side to side and has little hanging stars and it has lights and music... fancy I know. How did people survive back in the day without lighted swings. Thanks again for being so willing to help me.

I love pie night too--of course, not for the pies, but because lots of my fave peeps are there! Good times! It's an essential part of the holiday season.
And for the record: I do not have my hat on backwards in that picture, as it seems to be. It's just the perfect angle that happens not to show the bill. Srsly. This is why I have hair. So I don't look like that.

Verification word: thlesso

Thlesso is: check yer b-ball cap angle when da camera comes 'round.
